How MET Scores Reading

The MET Reading section has 50 multiple-choice questions across three parts: Grammar (20Q), Single-text Reading (10Q), and Multiple-text Reading (20Q). Each correct answer carries equal weight with no penalty for wrong answers — always select an option. MET uses Item Response Theory (IRT) to scale your raw score to the 0-80 score, ensuring comparability across different test forms.

Common mistake: Rushing through grammar questions to save time for reading passages. The grammar section counts equally toward your score. Tip: When answering reading comprehension questions, refer back to the passage — don't rely on memory. Look for keywords in the questions to locate relevant sections quickly.
